Hama Lens Hood ST For Standard Lenses Collapsible 46 mm
Hama Lens Hood ST For Standard Lenses Collapsible 46 mm | Helps control stray light and packs flat
Bright side light can cause unwanted flare just when you want a clear view of your subject. The Hama Lens Hood ST is a collapsible hood for standard lenses in the 46 mm size, giving you a simple way to shade the lens from stray light. It’s suited to photographers who use a compatible standard lens and want a hood that can be folded down when it’s not needed. That makes it handy for everyday photography: use it outdoors when light falls across the front of the lens, or keep it ready for a bright window nearby. Its black colour is a discreet match for many camera setups. The key detail is the 46 mm size, so this isn’t a universal hood; it’s intended for standard lenses with that size. If that’s your lens, the collapsible design makes it easy to keep the hood close at hand.
Specialist Note
Side light washing across your lens can be a nuisance, and this hood gives you a straightforward way to shade it. I’d use it on a 46 mm standard lens for a street scene with the sun off to one side, or for a still life beside a bright window: open the collapsible hood and use it to block light coming from outside the frame. Because it folds down, it’s easier to stow between those situations than a hood that stays extended. It suits someone who wants this specific bit of help without carrying a bulky accessory. The limit is the size: it’s for 46 mm standard lenses, not every lens in your bag.
