Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia 450GSM 17" 43.2cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia 450GSM 17" 43.2cmx15m 1ROLL | A long canvas roll for planned print runs

Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia is a 450gsm canvas in a 17-inch (43.2cm) roll, made for printmakers and studios planning canvas print work. The 15-metre length gives you a continuous roll to work with, rather than a stack of individual sheets. That format can suit a workflow where print size and quantity vary from job to job, and where you want to plan several pieces from one roll. Galicia is the name of this canvas, while the 450gsm figure gives you a clear reference point when comparing media by weight. This is a substantial roll to factor into your workspace and print planning; it’s best considered for projects that call for canvas media in this width and length. If your work is organised around sheet sizes, a roll asks for a different approach: you’ll need to plan how each print is laid out and cut. The useful detail here is the specific combination of canvas, weight and roll dimensions.

Planning around the roll format

At 43.2cm wide and 15m long, the roll represents about 6.48 square metres of material before trimming. That calculation can help when estimating how much area is available for a group of prints, though the final usable amount depends on the layout and cut sizes you choose. It’s a straightforward format to assess against a print plan: consider the width each image needs, then work out how many pieces can be arranged along the roll’s length. Keep those dimensions in mind when setting up a job, especially if you’re moving from sheet media to roll stock. The product name identifies it as FineArt Canvas Galicia, and the listed weight is 450gsm; beyond those details, the choice comes down to whether this roll format matches the work you intend to print. It’s a specific media option, rather than a general-purpose pack of paper sheets.
