JJC EW-55II Canon Lens Hood (For Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM Lens) | A dedicated hood for your RF 28mm

Bright light coming from just outside your frame can be a nuisance when you’re composing a photograph. The JJC EW-55II is a lens hood made for the Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM lens, giving that particular lens a dedicated hood rather than a generic accessory. It’s for owners of this Canon lens who want a simple way to shade the front of it while framing a scene. A hood can help limit stray light reaching the lens, which is especially handy when you’re working near a bright window or shooting outdoors with the sun close to your composition. The EW-55II’s appeal is its specific pairing: it’s made for the RF 28mm f/2.8 STM, rather than being a general-purpose hood. If you use that lens regularly, it’s a straightforward accessory to keep with your camera for situations where unwanted light becomes distracting.

Specialist Note

The EW-55II gives the RF 28mm f/2.8 STM a dedicated way to shade the lens, instead of relying on your hand to block light. At 28mm, this lens suits street scenes and everyday views where you want some surroundings in the frame; keep bright sources near the edge in mind, and the hood can help reduce stray light. The f/2.8 maximum aperture is useful when the light drops, such as indoors, so you can keep shooting without immediately reaching for extra lighting. I’d recommend it to anyone who uses this specific RF lens and wants a purpose-matched hood. It’s a focused accessory, not a general fit for other lenses.
