JJC Tamron Lens Hood DA09
JJC Tamron Lens Hood DA09 | Keep unwanted light out of your lens
Fewer distractions from unwanted light make it easier to keep your attention on the scene. The JJC Tamron Lens Hood DA09 is a silicone lens hood that replaces Tamron’s original DA09 hood. It’s for owners of the Tamron A09 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) or A16 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) lens, the two models named for this hood. Used on either of those zooms, it serves the straightforward purpose of limiting unwanted light entering the lens. That’s useful when shooting outdoors, where light coming from outside your framing can interfere with the view, and when you’d like to keep a spare hood available rather than leave the lens without one if the original is missing or needs replacing. The silicone construction sets it apart from a standard rigid hood, while its DA09 designation identifies the Tamron hood it’s intended to replace. It’s a focused accessory for those specific lenses, rather than a universal hood.
Why it is useful
- Silicone construction: The hood is made of silicone, a clear material specification for shoppers comparing it with their original DA09. It’s the defining design detail of this replacement.
- Replaces the Tamron DA09: This JJC hood is intended as a substitute for the original Tamron DA09. Choose it when that’s the hood you need to replace or keep as an additional part.
- Controls unwanted light: A lens hood’s stated purpose here is to prevent unwanted light from entering the lens. That matters when stray light reaches the front of the lens while you’re framing a scene.
- Two listed Tamron lenses: The named fits are the A09 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) and A16 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II LD Aspherical (IF). The specific model names make it clear which Tamron zooms this hood is for.
- Useful as a spare: The DA09 replacement role also makes it a straightforward extra part to keep available. It’s an accessory for those two listed lenses, not a general-purpose fit.
Specialist Note
Two Tamron zooms are named for the DA09, so in practice this is a specific replacement, not a hood to choose by appearance alone. I’d point owners of the A09 28-75mm or A16 17-50mm toward it when their original DA09 needs replacing or they want an extra on hand. Its silicone construction is the detail to note: this isn’t described as a rigid hood. For outdoor framing, its job is to keep unwanted light from entering the lens, so the composition stays the focus. The fit is deliberately narrow; the product information names those two lenses, and I wouldn’t assume compatibility with other Tamron models.
