Kaiser Contactreiniger

Kaiser Contactreiniger - retractable fibreglass brush

Dirty or oxidised battery contacts are the problem this Kaiser Contactreiniger is made to address. It has a fibreglass brush housed in a pencil-shaped body, with a twist cap at the rear to move the brush in and out. That compact form keeps the working end covered when it’s retracted, while the brush gives you a specific tool for cleaning battery contacts rather than a general-purpose cleaning cloth. Use it on contacts affected by dirt, or on contacts with oxidation; those are the two jobs named for this cleaner. The mechanism is straightforward: turn the rear cap to extend the brush for use and retract it afterwards. For a camera cupboard or a repair bench, it’s a small, focused accessory to keep with other cleaning supplies. It comes in black. There’s no extra kit to sort through: the defining feature is the retractable fibreglass brush.

Why it is useful

• Fibreglass brush: The brush is the working part of the cleaner, specified for battery contacts. It gives you a brush rather than a cloth for addressing dirt and oxidation on those contacts.
• Retracts into the body: A twist cap at the back moves the brush in and out. When retracted, the brush is enclosed by the pencil-shaped body, so it isn’t left extended between uses.
• Twist-cap control: The rear cap is the control for extending and retracting the brush. There’s no separate sliding part to operate; turning the cap moves the brush to the position you need.
• Pencil-shaped format: The slim, pen-like outline makes the tool easy to hold as you work on a contact. Its shape also keeps the cleaner recognisable among other small cleaning accessories.
• Made for battery contacts: The stated purpose is cleaning contacts that are dirty or oxidised. That specific use makes it a focused addition to a camera and electronics cleaning kit, rather than a brush for general surface dust.
