Kondor Blue KB-FCF-ND21 Firecrest Alloy Cine IRND 4x5.65" Filters ND 2.1 | Control bright light for cinematic exposure

Managing bright light while keeping your chosen exposure is the job of this filter. The Kondor Blue KB-FCF-ND21 Firecrest Alloy Cine IRND 4x5.65" Filters ND 2.1 is a cinema neutral-density filter for filmmakers who want more control over shutter speed or aperture in bright conditions. Its ND 2.1 rating makes it suited to situations where a lighter reduction wouldn’t give enough room to work. That can mean retaining motion blur at a bright location, or choosing a wider aperture without letting the image become overexposed. The IRND designation identifies it as an infrared-oriented neutral-density filter; it’s made for image-making where managing light is part of setting the look, not just correcting exposure after the fact. It’s a specialist format rather than a small screw-on filter, so it makes most sense for a cinema setup built around rectangular filters. If you work with controlled exposure and want a strong reduction in incoming light, this is the specific density to consider.

Specialist Note

The broad 4 × 5.65-inch rectangular face makes the format a practical part of the decision: your filter holder needs to accept that size, so it’s worth matching the filter to the holder you already use. The ND 2.1 density represents about seven stops of light reduction. For a static scene, that gives you room to stretch an exposure from 1/50 second to roughly 2.5 seconds while holding aperture and ISO constant—handy for smoothing moving water or recording light trails. The Alloy name points to its metal construction, a reassuringly purposeful choice for a filter intended for cinema work. I’d suggest it to filmmakers who need this degree of light control, but it’s a strong density, not a subtle everyday adjustment.
