LaCie d2 4TB Thunderbolt2 & USB3.0 3.5inch Dual TB 2 Ports

LaCie d2 4TB Thunderbolt2 & USB3.0 3.5inch Dual TB 2 Ports | Desktop storage with two connection options

When files start taking up space on your computer, it helps to have a separate place to keep them. The LaCie d2 is a 4TB external hard drive for people who want desktop storage and a choice of connection: Thunderbolt 2 or USB 3.0. Its 3.5-inch format makes it a stationary drive rather than something to choose for carrying around every day. The two Thunderbolt 2 ports are a useful detail if that connection is part of your setup; USB 3.0 gives you another option. It’s a straightforward way to add storage for a library of images, video or other files. One honest point: the best connection for you depends on the ports available in your own setup, so it’s worth thinking about how you’ll connect it before settling on this model.

This LaCie makes most sense when you want a dedicated drive on a desk and already know which connection you plan to use. Having both Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 on the product gives you two interface options, while the pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports is a specific part of its design. The 4TB capacity gives you room to keep a substantial collection of files together, rather than spreading them across several smaller drives. It’s a simple proposition: a desktop hard drive with a clearly stated capacity and two ways to connect. If portability is your main concern, its 3.5-inch size is worth bearing in mind; for a fixed storage spot, that format is the point.
