Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 7D
Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 7D | Switch to portrait framing on a tripod
Without an L plate, changing a camera to portrait orientation on a tripod usually means tilting the head sideways. The Leofoto Combo L Plate is a tripod accessory made for the Canon 7D, giving you another way to change orientation while keeping the camera positioned over the tripod. It’s for 7D owners who regularly move between landscape and portrait framing, especially when working from a fixed tripod position. That makes it relevant for portraits, still-life setups and other careful compositions where you want to reframe without starting your tripod placement from scratch. The name identifies both its L-plate format and its intended camera; it isn’t a general-purpose plate for every camera. If you use a Canon 7D on a tripod and often turn the camera for vertical compositions, this is the specific accessory to consider.
In practice, the benefit is a different way to make that portrait turn: the L-shaped support lets you mount the camera in a vertical orientation rather than leaning the tripod head over. That can keep your framing and working position more consistent as you change between horizontal and vertical shots. It’s a focused accessory, rather than a general upgrade to the camera or tripod, so its appeal depends on how often you need that change in orientation.
Specialist Note
For a 90-degree change to portrait framing on a tripod, this is the kind of accessory I’d consider for a Canon 7D that gets used in both orientations. The L-plate format gives you a way to make that turn without simply tipping the head sideways, which can be helpful when you want to keep a careful composition steady. It suits 7D owners photographing portraits or arranging still life from a fixed position. One practical point: its stated fit is specifically the Canon 7D, so I’d treat that compatibility as the deciding detail rather than assume it suits another camera body.
