Leofoto FA-15 + FA-10
Leofoto FA-15 + FA-10 | Fire off-camera flashes for portrait and product work
Without a flash trigger, an off-camera flash needs another way to be fired. The Leofoto FA-15 + FA-10 is a flash trigger and transmitter for photographers who want to work with flash away from the camera, especially for portraits and product photographs. Its job is straightforward: send the signal that fires the flash, so the light can come from a position that suits the subject rather than the camera’s position. That makes it relevant when you’re shaping a portrait with light from the side, or aiming light at a product without having the flash sit on the camera. It’s a focused tool for firing off-camera flash, not a description of a full lighting setup. If that’s the part you need, this pair belongs in the conversation; the look you create still depends on where you place the flash and how you use its light.
Where it fits
For a portrait, place the flash off to one side and use the transmitter to fire it; the direction of the light can help give the face more shape. For product work, try positioning the flash beside or behind the subject to bring out edges and form. In both cases, this trigger is the link that lets you fire the off-camera flash. The creative decisions remain yours: the transmitter starts the flash, while placement determines where the light falls.
Specialist Note
“Does the Leofoto FA-15 + FA-10 let me fire a flash away from the camera?” Yes—that’s exactly its role as a flash trigger and transmitter. I’d consider it when you’re moving from a flash on the camera to a portrait setup with the light placed to one side, or when you want to light a small product from a more deliberate angle. The transmitter handles the firing; you decide where the flash goes and what kind of light that creates. It’s a focused piece of a lighting setup, so don’t expect the trigger itself to shape the light. For that, placement is what matters.
