Leofoto FA-16 + FA-10
Leofoto FA-16 + FA-10 | Trigger off-camera flash for portraits and product shots
The Leofoto FA-16 + FA-10 has a focused role: it’s a flash trigger and transmitter for firing flashes away from your camera. That makes it relevant to photographers who want to shape light for portraits or product images, rather than relying on flash from the camera position. For a portrait, an off-camera flash gives you the option to place light to one side of your subject; for a small product, you can direct light where it helps show shape and detail. The trigger is the link between making the photograph and firing the flash. It suits photographers building a simple off-camera lighting setup for considered, repeatable images. Its appeal is that clear purpose: it’s designed around triggering off-camera flash, with portraits and product photography as the natural applications.
A practical way to use it
For a portrait, start with the flash off to one side of your subject and adjust its position until the light gives the face the shape you want. For a product shot, try moving the flash around the object to see how the light changes its edges and surface. The FA-16 + FA-10 is the triggering part of that setup; the look still depends on where you place the flash and how you light the subject.
Specialist Note
The Leofoto FA-16 + FA-10 is a flash trigger for firing off-camera flashes, and that’s its clearest job. I’d point it towards someone who wants to move beyond lighting a subject from the camera position, especially for portraits or tabletop product work. For a portrait, place the flash to the side and use the trigger to fire it while you work on the subject’s expression and light placement. For a product, shift the flash around the object to bring out its shape. One point to keep in mind: this is the trigger/transmitter, not the flash itself, so you’ll need an off-camera flash for the lighting. I like the straightforward purpose here; it’s about getting the flash away from the camera.
