Metabones Canon FD - Canon EOS R Mount T

Metabones Canon FD - Canon EOS R Mount T | Connect FD lenses to EOS R

Without a mount converter, a Canon FD lens and a Canon EOS R mount camera don’t have the same mount. This Metabones converter is made for that specific pairing: Canon FD on the lens side, Canon EOS R on the camera side. It’s for photographers who want to use Canon FD lenses with a Canon EOS R mount camera, rather than leave those lenses out of their kit. The useful point is the mount pairing itself; it gives you a defined route between the two named systems. If you’re choosing an accessory for a particular lens collection, matching those mount names is the first thing to focus on. The product name is precise, which is welcome with mount converters: you can see the intended lens and camera mounts at a glance.

A focused mount conversion

This isn’t a general-purpose converter: it’s described for Canon FD to Canon EOS R. That makes it relevant when your lens choice is already set by an FD lens you want to use, or when you’re planning around that mount pairing. The “Mount T” designation is part of the product name, so it’s useful to keep the full name together when searching or asking about this specific version. In the shop, I’d start by matching the lens mount and camera mount shown here to the equipment you have in mind. That keeps the decision grounded in the actual purpose of this converter, rather than treating all mount adapters as interchangeable. The honest takeaway is simple: this product is about connecting those two named mounts, and that’s the detail to use when deciding if it belongs in your setup.
