Meyer Optik Görlitz Lydith 30mm f/3.5 II Nikon Z-Mount
Meyer Optik Görlitz Lydith 30mm f/3.5 II Nikon Z-Mount | More of the street in your frame
Street scenes and travel views are easier to frame when you can include the setting as well as the subject. The Meyer Optik Görlitz Lydith 30mm f/3.5 II Nikon Z-Mount is a wide-angle prime for Nikon Z cameras, with a 30mm focal length and manual focus. Its view lets you include a person, a storefront and more of the surrounding street in one composition. That suits photographers who like to work deliberately, explore a city on foot or build travel pictures around the scene in front of them. The maximum aperture of f/3.5 is useful in daylight and in interiors with decent light. With manual focus, you decide exactly where attention falls, rather than relying on autofocus. It’s a straightforward prime for people who want context in the frame and enjoy taking time over composition.
Specialist Note
A tight street frame can leave the place out of the story; the Lydith’s 30mm view lets you include more of the surroundings from the same spot. I’d use it for a market stall or a travel scene with someone in context. On a Nikon DX (APS-C) body, it gives an angle of view equivalent to 45mm, which feels less wide and more focused on the subject. Manual focus rewards a deliberate approach: settle on your subject before the moment, rather than expecting the lens to follow quick movement. Its f/3.5 maximum aperture helps when daylight starts to fade, but it isn’t especially bright for dim evening interiors. I’d choose it for considered street work, not fast action.
