Mofage Talos Damping Magic Arm

Mofage Talos Damping Magic Arm | Position accessories with controlled friction

An external monitor that needs a steady viewing angle is where the Mofage Talos Damping Magic Arm earns its place. This two-section arm extends to 28 cm and uses a damping structure to create friction at its joints, helping an accessory hold its position before the locking knob is fully tightened. It’s made for camera setups that need an adjustable mount for accessories such as a monitor, action camera or compact wireless unit. Three joints — two ball heads and a central hinge — give you several points of adjustment, while one central knob locks them together. That means you can set the viewing angle of a monitor and secure the arm with a single control, rather than tightening each joint separately. Its exoskeleton-style construction keeps the design light, and it folds down to 14 cm for a more compact footprint in your kit. The silver finish has purple and green accents. At the ends, 1/4"-20 anti-twist screws provide the main attachment points, and a supplied 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 adapter adds another mounting option. The toothless joint design also avoids the wear associated with interlocking teeth, a useful detail for an arm that gets repositioned often.

What the arm does

• Three adjustable joints: Two ball heads and a central hinge let you angle an accessory at multiple points. The central knob secures all three joints together.
• Damping structure: Friction in the joints helps the arm hold its current angle before the knob is fully tightened. That’s handy while you’re settling a monitor into position.
• Toothless joint design: The joints don’t rely on interlocking teeth, reducing wear as you reposition the arm over time.
• 1/4"-20 attachment screws: There’s a screw at each end for mounting accessories. The anti-twist design helps keep a mounted accessory from rotating.
• Retractable positioning pins: The pins engage with compatible accessory mounts to resist rotation at the connection. Retracting them keeps them clear when they aren’t needed.
• Supplied thread adapter: The included 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 adapter provides an alternative thread size for mounting compatible gear.
• Compact folding length: The arm measures 28 cm when extended and 14 cm when folded, so it takes up less space when packed away.
