Newell D-Tap - DC 5.5 X 2.5 mm 90 cm Spiral Power Cable

Newell D-Tap - DC 5.5 X 2.5 mm 90 cm Spiral Power Cable | A coiled link for D-Tap power

Newell D-Tap - DC 5.5 X 2.5 mm 90 cm Spiral Power Cable is a 90 cm coiled cable for connecting a D-Tap power source to a DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm connection. It’s for filmmakers and camera operators building a rig around those two connections, and for anyone who needs this particular cable type in a power setup. The spiral shape is the detail that sets it apart from a straight cable: it can extend as you route it, then draw back when there’s slack. That can help keep loose cable from sprawling across a compact setup. The length gives you a clear starting point when planning where the power source and receiving equipment will sit. This is a specific connector-to-connector cable, rather than a general-purpose lead. Match the D-Tap and DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm ends to the connections in your setup before choosing it.

Connection and cable layout

The cable’s two named ends describe its intended role: it links D-Tap power with equipment using a DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm connection. The connector dimensions matter here, so this is best suited to a setup that calls for that exact DC size. The spiral construction gives the cable room to move between connected devices while keeping its shape coiled when less length is needed. Its stated length is 90 cm; how it routes will depend on the spacing and placement of the equipment in your rig. If your setup uses different connector types or a different DC size, this isn’t the matching lead. Keeping the connector names and length in mind makes it easier to identify the right cable for a particular power connection.
