Newell Kathi Pro RGB LED Lamp

Newell Kathi Pro RGB LED Lamp | Add colour to studio lighting

The Newell Kathi Pro RGB LED Lamp is an RGB LED lamp for adding colour to a studio setup. It’s aimed at photographers and video makers who want to work with coloured light, whether they’re making portraits, product images or short-form video. The RGB name is the key detail here: it tells you this is a colour-focused lamp, rather than a product described simply as a white-light studio lamp. That gives you a way to consider colour as part of the look you’re making, instead of treating lighting as only a matter of brightness. It’s a straightforward fit for a home studio or another creative workspace where you want to experiment with coloured illumination. One honest point: the title alone doesn’t tell us how the lamp is operated or how much light it produces, so we won’t dress it up with claims about controls or output. What we can say is that it’s a Newell RGB LED lamp intended as a studio accessory.

Working with coloured light

RGB lighting can help give a scene a deliberate colour character. You might use colour as part of a background, add it to a set, or make it a visible element in the frame. The right approach depends on your subject and the effect you want; a subtle wash and a strong colour presence tell very different visual stories. If you’re new to working with coloured light, try introducing it in one part of the scene first, then judge how it sits alongside your subject and surroundings. That keeps the process considered rather than adding colour simply because it’s available.

For studio work, it helps to decide what role the lamp should play before you set up. Think about whether colour is meant to shape the atmosphere, separate the subject from the background, or become part of the subject itself. Those are creative choices, not promises about a particular lamp’s output. The Kathi Pro’s RGB identity makes it relevant when colour is part of the brief; the rest of the lighting plan can follow your space, subject and taste. It’s a simple starting point for building a coloured-light setup around your own way of working.
