Nikon LC-82B 82mm Lens Cap

Nikon LC-82B 82mm Lens Cap | Covers a matching NIKKOR lens

The Nikon LC-82B 82mm Lens Cap uses a clip-on design for NIKKOR lenses with a matching filter size, covering the lens opening when it’s not in use. The fit is the defining detail: this is a cap for a particular size of lens, rather than a universal cover. It’s a straightforward way to shield a compatible lens from dust, marks and scratches when you put it away between outings or leave it resting between setups. It’s also the same type of cap supplied with the lens, so it can serve as a replacement for a missing one or as a spare for an owner who wants another close to hand. The simple role is valuable in ordinary situations: keep dust off the lens while it’s stored, guard against surface marks while it’s set aside, or cover it when you finish using it. The LC-82B is specifically for NIKKOR lenses with an 82mm filter size, so that measurement is the key fit requirement. For owners of a matching lens, it provides a direct, familiar way to keep the front covered when the lens isn’t being used.

Protection and fit

• 82mm filter-size fit: The cap is intended for lenses with an 82mm filter size. Matching that size is what allows it to cover the lens opening as intended, rather than relying on a loose or mismatched cover.
• Clip-on attachment: It attaches by clipping onto the lens. That makes it a simple cover to put on and remove as you move between using the lens and storing it, without introducing a separate fastening system.
• For compatible NIKKOR lenses: The LC-82B is specified for NIKKOR lenses with the matching filter size. It’s a direct option for an owner replacing the supplied cap or keeping a spare for a compatible lens.
• Helps keep dust away: With the cap covering the lens, dust is less exposed to the front of the lens while it’s set aside or stored. That’s particularly useful during the pauses between using the lens.
• Guards against marks: The cap is intended to protect against stains and marks on the lens. Keeping it in place when the lens isn’t being used adds a barrier between the lens and everyday contact.
• Helps prevent scratches: A covered lens is less exposed to scratches while it’s being put away or left unused. The LC-82B provides that protection through its role as a lens cap, rather than as a filter or other optical accessory.
