Permajet Baryta Rag 310GSM 17INCHES 15m

Permajet Baryta Rag 310GSM 17INCHES 15m | A 17-inch roll for considered print planning

What sets this Permajet paper apart in the product name is its specific combination of Baryta Rag, 310gsm weight and a 17-inch, 15-metre roll. It’s for photographers and printmakers choosing paper by its stated format and weight, rather than looking for a pack of individual sheets. The roll format gives you continuous stock to plan cuts from, while the width and length make the intended print size and quantity important parts of the decision. This is the information available to judge it on; there’s no reason to guess at surface character or colour response. If you already know the paper format you need, the measurements make it easier to see whether this roll belongs in your workflow. One practical point: the final number of prints depends on the length you cut for each one.

Planning around the roll

Before choosing a roll, lay out the print sizes you expect to make and account for the space needed for borders or trimming. The paper is 17 inches wide, so that gives you a clear starting point for your layout; the usable image area will depend on how you prepare each print. The 15-metre length can then be considered against the cut length you’ll use, rather than treated as a fixed number of prints. For example, shorter cuts mean more pieces from the roll than longer cuts, though your actual yield will depend on your own layouts and cutting choices. That’s a simple way to judge whether this quantity suits a regular printing run or a smaller set of planned prints. The 310gsm figure is also useful when comparing paper by stated weight. If these dimensions and the named paper type match what you’re looking for, you can assess the roll on those concrete details without relying on assumptions about how it will look in your printer.
