PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 77mm
PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 77mm | Adjust exposure, soften the look
PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 77mm combines variable light reduction from 2 to 5 stops with a Mist diffusion effect. It’s made for photographers and filmmakers who want to adjust exposure while adding a softer rendering, rather than carrying separate filters for those two effects. The variable ND range is useful when the light changes or when you want more control over exposure outdoors; the Mist element is intended to soften the appearance of highlights and contrast. That pairing suits portraits, moving water and video scenes where you want to shape both exposure and the image’s character. It’s a considered option for someone who already knows they want diffusion in the image, not just a neutral exposure filter. The 77mm size is another practical detail to match to your setup. Think of it as one filter for two distinct choices: how much light to reduce, and whether you want a gentler finish.
Specialist Note
Exposure changes are easier to manage when you can work across a 2–5-stop range instead of committing to one fixed reduction. For a bright outdoor portrait, stay near 2 stops when you only need a modest trim; move toward 5 stops when you need more room to hold your chosen aperture. The Mist Edition adds diffusion too, so highlights and contrast get a softer treatment as you work. That combination suits portrait and video makers who want both effects in one filter. One thing to keep in mind: it isn’t a neutral-only option, since the mist character is part of the image throughout. The 77mm size is the key detail to match with your setup.
