Radius Red VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windcover
Radius Red VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windcover | Helps reduce wind interference
Outdoor dialogue can lose clarity when moving air reaches a microphone. The Radius Red VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windcover is a small accessory made for that kind of recording situation: it covers the microphone to help shield it from wind. Its name identifies the intended microphone, the VideoMic Pro+, and “Mini” describes this windcover’s format. The red finish also makes it easier to spot in a kit or on a work surface. It suits video makers who record interviews, pieces to camera or other spoken audio outside and want a straightforward way to address wind at the microphone. It’s most useful when a light breeze is affecting a recording; it can’t control the weather or remove every source of unwanted sound. Keep it with the microphone for outdoor work, and use it when wind is a concern rather than treating it as a fix for noise from traffic, voices or handling.
Practical use
Use the windcover over the VideoMic Pro+ when recording a one-person interview outdoors or filming a short piece to camera in a breezy spot. It’s a simple, specific addition to the microphone setup, rather than an audio setting to adjust. If the air is particularly gusty, choosing a more sheltered position still matters: a cover can help with wind at the microphone, but it won’t make a noisy location quiet.
Specialist Note
That red finish makes the Mini Windcover easy to pick out when you’re packing or changing a setup, which is handy when one microphone is moving between indoor and outdoor work. The “Mini” format keeps the accessory focused on covering the VideoMic Pro+, rather than adding a bulky piece of kit to your bag. I’d use it for a one-person interview or a quick piece to camera where a breeze is reaching the mic: fit the cover before recording, then choose the most sheltered position you can. It’s a practical aid for wind, not a substitute for controlling other background noise.
