Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 72
Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 72 | Control reflections and deepen skies
Cut reflections from water or glass and bring more depth to a blue sky with a polarizing filter. The Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 72 is a circular polarizer with a 72 mm diameter, suited to photographers who want to manage reflected light in landscapes, architecture and scenes with glossy surfaces. Rotate the filter while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen to adjust the effect; the result changes with your position relative to the light, so small adjustments can make a visible difference. It can help reveal detail beneath surface glare and make foliage or skies look more saturated. The strongest effect on a sky usually comes when you’re shooting at roughly 90 degrees to the sun. It’s a hands-on filter: you choose the strength of the effect, rather than getting the same look in every direction.
Specialist Note
The Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 72 lets you reduce reflections that a lens hood can’t touch. The 72 mm figure is the filter diameter, so match it to a lens with a 72 mm filter thread; the size matters for a direct fit. Its circular polarizer design lets you turn the filter to set how much reflected light you want to suppress. For water, rotate it while watching the surface until underwater detail becomes clearer; for a blue sky, adjust your shooting direction as well, since the effect depends on the sun’s angle. I’d consider it for deliberate landscape or architectural work. One limit: a polarizer absorbs some light, so it isn’t the filter I’d reach for when keeping every bit of available light matters.
