Rycote Grey Lavalier Windjammer - Pair
Rycote Grey Lavalier Windjammer - Pair | Helps reduce wind noise on lavalier recordings
Wind hitting a lavalier microphone can add distracting noise to a recording, especially when you’re filming outside. The Rycote Grey Lavalier Windjammer is a small cover for lavalier microphones, made to help reduce that problem. This pair suits filmmakers, interviewers and content creators who want clearer speech when air movement is affecting their audio. It’s particularly useful for outdoor conversations and other recordings where the microphone needs to stay close to the speaker rather than being moved out of the wind. With two windjammers in the product name, you can plan for two microphones or keep a second cover available. They’re a focused accessory: their job is to help with wind noise, not to change the way your microphone records speech. If wind is the issue in your setup, this is a straightforward addition to consider.
Specialist Note
Do these Rycote windjammers help with wind noise on a lavalier mic? Yes—that’s what this product is intended for. I’d consider the pair when recording two people outdoors, or keep the second one ready for a spare microphone. Put a windjammer over each lavalier microphone you’re using; that keeps the wind protection with the mic close to each speaker. The supplier lists the colour as white, so bear that in mind if the microphone and cover will be visible on camera. It’s a specific fix for wind, rather than a general improvement to every kind of recording.
