SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 4TB

SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 4TB - transfers up to 2,000MB/s

SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 4TB combines a large 4TB capacity with read and write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s. It’s a portable solid-state drive for photographers and other creators who need to move substantial files between locations, keep a working copy of their material close by, or carry a sizeable archive. The quoted maximum speeds are the headline figure; SanDisk describes this version as nearly twice as fast as its predecessor. That makes it a notable option for transferring large batches of images or other files, rather than waiting around for a conventional, slower transfer. The 4TB capacity also gives you space to keep more than a small selection of files on one drive. Its travel-ready details are useful when your storage goes out in the field: the drive has a protective silicone cover, resistance to drops from up to two metres, and water and dust protection. A carabiner provides a way to attach it to a belt or backpack. For work that needs privacy, password protection uses 256-bit AES hardware encryption. The combination is straightforward: fast portable storage, a generous capacity and physical protection for carrying it around.

Portable storage details

• Aluminium housing: The drive’s aluminium body also acts as a heat sink. That gives the enclosure a working role during sustained file transfers, rather than making it just an outer shell.
• Silicone cover: A silicone layer surrounds the drive as added protection while it travels. It’s a useful detail for storage that moves between a desk, a camera bag and a location shoot.
• Drop protection up to 2 metres: SanDisk rates the drive as able to withstand drops from heights of up to two metres. That protection matters when portable storage is being handled away from a carefully arranged workstation.
• Water and dust protection: The enclosure has protection against both water and dust. It adds reassurance when the drive is carried outdoors, though the source gives no protection rating to interpret.
• Built-in carabiner: Use the carabiner to attach the SSD to a belt or backpack. It keeps the drive attached to your carrying gear instead of loose among other items.
• 256-bit AES hardware encryption: Password protection works with hardware-based AES encryption. It gives stored files a privacy measure when the drive holds personal images or work material.
