SanDisk SDXC Extreme Pro 256GB (UHS-II V90 R310MB/s / W304MB/s)

SanDisk SDXC Extreme Pro 256GB (UHS-II V90 R310MB/s / W304MB/s) | Fast transfers, with 256GB of capacity

Slow card transfers can interrupt a shoot just when you’d rather be sorting files or moving on. The SanDisk SDXC Extreme Pro offers 256GB of capacity, with UHS-II and V90 ratings and listed read and write speeds of 310MB/s and 304MB/s. It suits photographers and other image-makers who want a high-capacity SDXC card and pay attention to transfer speed when choosing storage. The read figure is relevant when you’re bringing files off the card; the write figure matters when you’re recording them to it. Those are useful numbers to compare with your needs, rather than a reason to assume every setup will perform identically. The main appeal here is the combination of a clearly stated 256GB capacity and substantial speed figures in one SDXC card. If you’re weighing cards for a busy workflow, those details make this model easy to assess.

Making sense of the card’s ratings

The title gives you several distinct details to weigh: SDXC identifies the card type, 256GB is its capacity, UHS-II and V90 are its ratings, and R310MB/s / W304MB/s gives the read and write figures. That distinction is handy when comparing options: capacity describes how much storage is offered, while the speed numbers describe the stated read and write performance. For a workflow that involves moving files regularly, it’s worth considering both directions instead of focusing on a single headline number. The listed read speed is a little higher than the listed write speed, so keep the separate figures in view when deciding which matters more to your work. This card’s appeal is specific: it puts these capacity and speed details together, without making you guess which figure refers to reading and which to writing.
