Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.3 4x5.65
Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.3 4x5.65 | Gentle exposure control
The 4x5.65 format is the defining choice: it gives film and video crews a broad rectangular filter for subtle exposure adjustments in a production setup. The Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.3 is a neutral-density filter, so its job is to reduce the light reaching the camera without making the scene look darker in tone or colour by design. Its 0.3 density is a light reduction—about one stop—rather than a strong cut for very bright conditions. That makes it useful when you want a little more room to hold a chosen aperture or shutter speed, but don’t want a heavy ND effect. It suits camera operators and cinematographers already working with 4x5.65 filters who need measured exposure control. Think of it as a small adjustment tool: handy when your settings are close, but one stop of reduction won’t solve every bright-light situation.
Specialist Note
At 0.3 density, this filter makes a modest change to exposure, so you can keep your intended look without making a large correction elsewhere. I’d consider it when you want to hold an aperture in brighter conditions: if your reading calls for 1/1000 sec, one stop of ND lets you work around 1/500 sec at the same aperture and ISO. That’s also a gentle step toward showing a little more movement in a shot. The 4x5.65 size suits people whose production setup already uses that format; it’s a specific workflow choice, not a small screw-on filter. My honest note: for a bigger shutter-speed change, this 0.3 density is simply too light on its own.
