Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold 2mm 4x5.65
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold 2mm 4x5.65 | Gold-toned light streaks in camera
Without a streak filter, a gold flare effect is usually added later in post. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold puts that look in front of the lens instead, creating gold-toned streaks from bright lights in the frame. It’s a specialist color filter for filmmakers and camera teams who want to shape practical lights, headlights or other bright points as part of the shot, rather than build the effect afterwards. The result depends on having a suitable light source in view, so it’s most useful when lighting and composition are under your control. Its 4x5.65 format is intended for a matching filter setup; check that size against your holder before planning a rig. Choose it when the streak itself should have a warm gold character. It’s a focused creative effect, not a general-purpose color correction filter.
Specialist Note
Does the Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold give you a visible gold streak from a light in frame? Yes—that’s the effect to reach for when you want a bright practical to draw a warm line through the image. For a street scene, compose a headlight or lamp in the shot and let the filter shape its flare; for a controlled setup, place a small bright source where you want the streak to lead the eye. The 4x5.65 format is the key rig detail, so match it to your filter holder. The 2mm designation is useful when planning a filter stack. One honest limitation: without a bright source in frame, there’s no streak for it to shape.
