Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue 1FOR 6.6x6.6
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue 1FOR 6.6x6.6 | Add blue streaks to bright lights
Turn bright points of light into blue streaks in the frame, giving night scenes and lit interiors a distinct optical effect. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue 1FOR 6.6x6.6 is a color filter made for that look, in a 6.6x6.6 format. It suits filmmakers and photographers who want the streak effect to be part of the image at capture, rather than building a similar look in post-production. It’s especially useful when a scene gives you clear, bright light sources to work with: a lamp or illuminated sign can become a visible feature of the composition. The result depends on what’s in the frame, so this filter is a more deliberate creative tool than an everyday color correction filter. If you’re planning a shot around a particular light, the blue streak can help make that source feel more graphic and prominent.
Specialist Note
The True-Streak Blue gives you a blue streak effect in the image as you make it, rather than leaving that look for post-production. I’d use it where bright, compact lights are already part of the scene: frame an illuminated sign or a practical lamp, then adjust the composition so the streak has room to read. The blue designation matters because it makes the effect a deliberate color choice, not just a line across a highlight. The 6.6x6.6 format is worth factoring into your setup before you build the shot around it. This is a specialist effect filter, so it makes most sense when you want that particular look, not as a filter to leave in place for every scene.
