SmallRig 5260 L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Fujifilm X-M5 (Black)
SmallRig 5260 L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Fujifilm X-M5 (Black) | Handheld video support with a wooden grip
The wooden handle is the defining choice here: it gives handheld video makers a dedicated grip and an extra point of support. SmallRig pairs it with an L-shape mount plate for the Fujifilm X-M5, making this a shoulder rig designed around that camera. It’s aimed at people who want more support while filming handheld, rather than a rig for general still photography. Hold the handle as you frame a shot, or use it to give your hand a more deliberate place to rest during a longer take. The wooden detail also gives the rig a distinct feel and appearance compared with an all-metal design. This setup is best suited to straightforward handheld video work, such as recording a presenter or following a subject through a scene. It gives you a grip to work with, while keeping the camera in your hands.
Specialist Note
For filmmakers recording handheld interviews, presenter pieces or short moving sequences, this SmallRig gives the Fujifilm X-M5 a dedicated handhold. The wooden handle is the detail I’d pay attention to: it gives your supporting hand a clear place to hold while you keep the camera framed. The L-shape plate makes this a camera-specific rig, rather than a generic handle to adapt across setups. For a seated interview, hold the handle and keep your framing steady through the take; for a moving shot, use that same grip as you follow your subject. It’s still a handheld shoulder rig, so it won’t give you the fixed support of a tripod.
