Tiffen 105CUVP 105C UV Protector
Tiffen 105CUVP 105C UV Protector | A protective layer for everyday lens use
Your lens has a protective filter in place, so its front surface is less exposed to everyday handling and cleaning. The Tiffen 105CUVP 105C UV Protector is a UV filter intended to sit in front of a lens, combining UV filtering with a protective role. It suits photographers who want that extra layer during regular use, especially when a lens is being carried, handled or cleaned often. A UV filter isn’t a tool for creating a dramatic change in every picture; its appeal is the practical protection it provides while staying in place as you work. The product name identifies it as the 105C UV Protector, but doesn’t tell us its dimensions or construction, so I wouldn’t assume a fit from the model code alone. If you’re choosing it for a particular lens, match the filter to that lens’s requirements before buying. For straightforward, day-to-day lens protection, this is the purpose-built kind of filter to consider.
Specialist Note
Many first-time UV-filter buyers expect a big visual change in their photographs; this one makes more sense as protection you can leave in place. Its name identifies it as a UV filter, so it has that filtering role, while “Protector” makes the practical priority clear: adding a filter surface in front of the lens. I’d consider it for a lens that gets regular handling or goes in and out of a camera bag, then clean the filter surface rather than reaching straight for the lens front. It suits someone who values that everyday buffer more than a visible creative effect. One honest point: don’t buy it expecting a new look in every scene. Match it to the lens before choosing.
