Tiffen 45650WPM1 4x5.650 Warm Pro Mist 1 Filter
Tiffen 45650WPM1 4x5.650 Warm Pro Mist 1 Filter | Warmth and softened highlights for a gentler image
Faces and bright highlights take on a warmer, softer character, giving an image a more atmospheric finish. The Tiffen 45650WPM1 4x5.650 Warm Pro Mist 1 Filter is for cinematographers and photographers who want that look as they shoot, rather than adding it later in editing. Its Warm Pro Mist treatment combines warmth with gentle highlight diffusion, so point sources can bloom more softly and skin can feel less clinical. It suits portrait scenes, interiors lit with practical lamps, and shots where a little glow helps set the mood without dominating the frame. The effect depends on the light and composition: include a bright source or reflective highlight to make the diffusion more visible. With flatter, more even light, the glow can be subtler. It’s a creative look, rather than a neutral filter for every scene.
Specialist Note
4 × 5.650 is the filter format, so in practice this is for a setup designed to take that size of filter. I’d choose it when you want the look to be part of the image at capture, not a layer added later. The “1” in Warm Pro Mist 1 identifies the grade of the effect: try it for close portraits where softened highlights can flatter skin, or frame a practical lamp in an interior for a gentler glow. I’d leave it off scenes where neutral colour and crisp highlights are the priority—the warmth and diffusion are the character here.
