Tiffen FW3GG3 Filter Wheel 3 Glimmerglass 3
Tiffen FW3GG3 Filter Wheel 3 Glimmerglass 3 | Match a named filter
When a shot list calls for Glimmerglass 3, having the exact named filter makes it easier to follow that brief. The Tiffen FW3GG3 Filter Wheel 3 Glimmerglass 3 is identified by both its FW3GG3 model code and its Glimmerglass 3 designation. It suits filmmakers and camera teams who need to select that specific filter for a planned setup, rather than choosing by a broad description alone. The practical benefit is clarity: you can refer to the same name when preparing a shot, tracking a setup or discussing the required filter with your crew. If you’re choosing from a production note, use the full designation to avoid confusion with a different Glimmerglass version. It’s a focused purchase for a defined requirement; the title alone doesn’t make it a universal fit for every filter system.
For a consistent workflow, keep the exact designation with your setup notes. That gives the camera team a clear reference when returning to a planned shot or repeating a scene. Use the model code as well when identifying the item for a production or reorder.
Specialist Note
Matching a call sheet that specifies Glimmerglass 3 is where this Tiffen earns its place. I’d use the full name, FW3GG3 and Glimmerglass 3, in your camera notes so the crew can identify the intended filter without relying on a vague description. That’s especially handy when a scene needs to be repeated: keep the same named filter in the notes for each setup. It suits camera teams and filmmakers working to a specific filter reference. One practical caution: “Filter Wheel 3” is part of the product name, so don’t assume that wording alone confirms compatibility with your particular rig.
