Tilta HDA-T18-Dam Dovetail Accessory Mounting Plate For Hydra Alien Pro | Adds an accessory mounting point

The defining decision is the dovetail format: this is a dedicated accessory mounting plate for a Hydra Alien Pro setup. Tilta has given it a focused role in a rig, rather than making it a standalone support. It suits operators who are building out a Hydra Alien Pro configuration and need a place to mount accessories as part of that setup. The practical value is in having a plate specifically named for this rig, so it can be considered when planning where accessory mounting belongs in your build. Think about the layout you want before you assemble the setup: this plate is relevant when you need an accessory mounting point on the Hydra Alien Pro. It’s a specialist part with a clear purpose, not a general tripod accessory for unrelated configurations.

Specialist Note

For filmmakers shaping a Hydra Alien Pro rig around a particular camera move, this plate gives you a defined place to mount accessories as part of that setup. The dovetail format is the key detail: it makes this a specific mounting plate, rather than a general support to add elsewhere in your kit. I’d plan the accessory layout first, then use the plate where you need that mounting point on the Hydra Alien Pro. That’s useful when you want accessories arranged with the rig for a shot, instead of handling them as separate pieces. Its scope is deliberately narrow, so it makes most sense when the Hydra Alien Pro is already central to your build.
