Tilta MB-T17-VND 114mm Variable ND Filter For Mirage Pro Matte Box
Tilta MB-T17-VND 114mm Variable ND Filter For Mirage Pro Matte Box | Adjust exposure in bright conditions
Bright daylight can make it difficult to hold the exposure you want while filming or taking photographs. The Tilta MB-T17-VND is a variable neutral-density filter for the Mirage Pro Matte Box, designed to give you a way to adjust how much light reaches the camera. That makes it useful when light levels change and you want to manage exposure without changing your planned aperture or shutter speed. It’s a specialist option for filmmakers and camera crews using the Mirage Pro Matte Box, particularly for outdoor work where the available light can be strong. The 114mm format is part of the product’s specific setup, rather than a general-purpose screw-in filter. Use it when you want ND control within that matte-box system and a variable filter suits your workflow. Its purpose is straightforward: help you work with bright conditions while keeping your exposure choices in your hands.
Specialist Note
“Does this filter fit the Mirage Pro Matte Box?” Yes, that’s exactly the system it’s made for. I’d consider it when you want to adjust ND during a scene rather than swap between fixed filters as the light changes. The 114mm format is a key detail for planning your matte-box setup, while the variable ND function gives you adjustable light reduction for changing outdoor conditions. For example, it can help you keep your chosen aperture while filming in bright daylight. It’s a focused piece of kit: its appeal depends on using the Mirage Pro Matte Box, so I’d choose it for that setup rather than as a general standalone filter.
