Tilta TA-ABP2-G Sony L Series To V Mount Adapter Battery Plate Type II - Grey
Tilta TA-ABP2-G Sony L Series To V Mount Adapter Battery Plate Type II - Grey | Bring battery formats together on a shoulder rig
Its defining design decision is to name both Sony L Series and V mount in one adapter battery plate. That gives handheld video operators a way to bring those battery formats together as part of a shoulder-rig build. The TA-ABP2-G suits people arranging a rig who need this particular battery-format connection, rather than a general camera support accessory. Its best use is handheld video work where the camera needs extra support and the battery plate is part of the setup. The Type II designation and grey finish identify this specific version, which is useful when you’re choosing parts for a rig and want to refer to the exact model. It’s a focused piece of rig equipment: the value is in the named battery-format link, not in adding camera support by itself.
Specialist Note
In a handheld rig, this plate makes the battery-format choice part of the setup, rather than something to leave vague until you’re assembling the rig. I’d look at it when your build needs to bring Sony L Series and V-mount formats together; those names tell you exactly which formats this part is intended around. The Type II designation—the “2” in TA-ABP2-G—is worth keeping with the full model code when you’re selecting the right part for your rig. It’s aimed at video operators who want extra support for handheld camera work, and it makes most sense as one considered component in that build. The grey finish is a nice restrained look. Just remember, the plate itself isn’t the shoulder support.
