Ulanzi UV01 Explosion-proof UV Filter 82mm
Ulanzi UV01 Explosion-proof UV Filter 82mm | A straightforward UV layer for your lens
Without a filter in front of the lens, its front surface is exposed during everyday use. The Ulanzi UV01 is an 82mm UV filter for photographers who want a simple filter in place while carrying or using a lens with a matching 82mm filter thread. Its job is clear from the name: it’s a UV filter, with “Explosion-proof” as part of the product designation. That makes it relevant if you’re specifically looking for this type of filter, rather than an effect filter for changing the look of a photograph. For street scenes, landscapes or general day-to-day photography, it gives you a filter to keep fitted as a layer in front of the lens. The key practical detail is the 82mm size: it needs to match the lens’s filter thread. If it does, the UV01 is a direct, uncomplicated option to consider.
Specialist Note
Does “explosion-proof” mean the Ulanzi UV01 can be treated as impact-proof? I wouldn’t read the name that way. It’s an 82mm UV filter, so the first thing I’d check is whether your lens takes an 82mm filter; that size determines whether it’s a sensible fit. If it matches, I’d use it as a front layer for everyday street photography or landscape work, keeping it on the lens while you shoot rather than adding it only for a particular effect. The UV designation tells you the filter type, while the product name makes a tougher-sounding claim. I’d still handle it as a filter, not as permission to be careless with your lens.
