Urth 39mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro
Urth 39mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro | Control reflections with a CPL
The defining feature here is the combination of a magnetic attachment and a circular polarizer: it’s made for photographers who want to manage reflections without treating a filter as a permanent fixture on the lens. A CPL can reduce glare from reflective surfaces such as water and glass, and can deepen the appearance of a blue sky when the light is at a suitable angle. That makes this Urth useful for landscape work, travel photography and scenes shot through windows. The 39mm size suits a lens setup that takes this filter size and supports magnetic filters; the title alone doesn’t identify a particular camera or lens system. It’s best when reflections are getting in the way of the subject or distracting from colour. If you mainly want protection for a lens, a polarizer isn’t the right tool for that job.
Specialist Note
39mm is the filter diameter, so the practical starting point is a lens setup made for that size. The magnetic attachment is handy when you want to put the filter on for a specific scene and remove it again afterwards, rather than leave a polarizer in place. I’d use the CPL for reflections on a pond or shop window: rotate the filter while watching the reflected area, and stop when the glare falls enough without losing the look you want. It also suits landscape photographers working with blue skies, where the result changes with the light’s direction. A CPL can’t remove every reflection, so think of it as a way to control glare, not erase it.
