Urth 52mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL)
Urth 52mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) | Two filter types for more control
Urth 52mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) is a 52mm filter kit combining UV and circular polarising filtration. It’s for photographers whose lenses take 52mm filters and who want practical control over reflections and light in everyday scenes. The CPL is useful when shooting through glass or photographing water: rotate it while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen to adjust how much reflected light is reduced. It can also deepen the appearance of a blue sky, depending on your shooting angle. The UV filter addresses ultraviolet light, making it a different tool for a different job. This kit suits people who want both types of filtration available without building a filter selection one piece at a time. Its appeal is straightforward: the 52mm size and the UV/CPL pairing make it easy to identify what it’s for.
For the most visible polarising effect, work with the sun off to the side rather than directly in front of or behind you. Turn the CPL gradually and watch the reflections or sky change; the strongest setting isn’t always the most natural-looking one. Around reflective surfaces, small adjustments can matter more than simply turning it all the way.
Specialist Note
The CPL’s effect changes as you turn it, so you can fine-tune reflections as you frame rather than settling for a fixed result. I’d suggest this kit to someone using lenses with a 52mm filter thread who photographs shop windows, lakes or bright skies. For glass or water, rotate the CPL while watching the scene until the reflection is reduced to the level you want; for a sky, adjust it with the sun off to one side. The UV and CPL labels tell you which kind of filtration you’re reaching for, while the 52mm size gives you a clear match to look for on your lens. One limitation: polarising effect varies with your angle to the sun, so it won’t look equally strong in every direction.
