Urth 95mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro
Urth 95mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro | Balance light and reflections
In bright conditions, this filter lets you reduce the light reaching your camera while also managing reflections, so you can make longer exposures or control glare without changing filters. The Urth 95mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro combines a variable ND2–32 range with a circular polarising filter in a 95mm size. The ND range gives you room to adjust exposure as the light changes; the CPL function can help reduce reflections from surfaces such as water and glass, and deepen the look of a blue sky when the shooting angle is right. It’s suited to landscape and outdoor photographers who want both kinds of control at the lens. Use the ND effect to lengthen a shutter speed for motion in water, or the polarising effect to tame distracting reflections. The exact result depends on the scene and the angle of the light, so small adjustments are worth making.
Specialist Note
Harsh light can make a flowing river look frozen and leave bright reflections competing with the subject; this filter gives you two ways to tackle that in one fitting. Its ND2–32 range spans one to five stops of light reduction, so you can lengthen the shutter while keeping your chosen aperture, adjusting the strength to suit the scene. The built-in CPL is handy for controlling reflections on water or glass; rotate your composition and fine-tune the effect, especially when working with a blue sky. I’d recommend it to landscape photographers who want both controls available together. The 95mm size is substantial, so make sure your lens takes that filter size before choosing it.
