Westcott FJ80 II S Touchscreen 80WS Speedlight w/ Sony Camera Mount | Touchscreen flash for Sony-mounted portraits and events

For event coverage, indoor portraits and portraits in hard daylight, a speedlight can add light where the scene needs it: brighten a face indoors or soften the effect of strong sun with fill. The Westcott FJ80 II S Touchscreen 80WS Speedlight w/ Sony Camera Mount is an 80WS speedlight for photographers using a Sony camera mount. Its touchscreen provides a touch-operated way to work with the flash, and its stated output suits the people-focused situations it’s intended for. That makes it relevant to event photographers who want flash on hand, portrait photographers working indoors, and anyone looking to add fill in harsh sunshine. The use cases are refreshingly clear: this is a flash for photographing people in changing real-world conditions. If your work moves between events, indoor portraits and bright outdoor scenes, it gives you one speedlight for those jobs.

Specialist Note

The touchscreen is the detail I’d point out first: it gives you a direct, touch-operated way to work with the FJ80 II S. At 80WS, its stated output is aimed at the kinds of people-focused work this flash is suited to, rather than being an unspecified accessory. The Sony camera mount makes it relevant if you’re shopping for a speedlight for a Sony camera. I’d consider it for event photographs or indoor portraits where you want flash to provide the light; in hard sun, use it as fill to soften strong shadows on faces. Keep your usual working distance and subject size in mind when choosing a flash at this output.
