Wooden Camera LW 15mm Baseplate (Canon C70)
Wooden Camera LW 15mm Baseplate (Canon C70) | A dedicated base for your C70 rig
Your Canon C70 has a clear place in a tripod-oriented rig, so it’s easier to build a setup around the camera rather than improvise a mounting point. This Wooden Camera baseplate is a specialist tripod accessory for C70 owners working with a 15mm setup. Its purpose is practical: provide a base for arranging the camera as part of a supported filming rig. That makes it relevant for planned video work where you want the camera’s position and support to be part of the setup, not an afterthought. It’s aimed at operators who already know they need a baseplate for this camera and format, rather than someone looking for a general-purpose camera support. The appeal is its specific brief: Canon C70, 15mm, and a baseplate role. If those are the parts of your setup you’re trying to bring together, this is a focused accessory to consider.
A focused part of the rig
A baseplate is a supporting component, not a camera upgrade: it won’t change the C70’s image or its controls. Its value is in giving your rig a defined foundation. For tripod-based interviews or a carefully arranged video setup, that can help keep the camera’s support plan straightforward. It makes the most sense when the rest of your rig is being planned around the same 15mm format. If you’re after a different kind of camera accessory, this has a narrow job by design.
Specialist Note
15mm is the key number here: it tells you which support format this baseplate is intended to work within, so it’s useful when you’re planning a rig around that standard. The Canon C70 focus matters just as much; this isn’t a generic baseplate description, but an accessory named for that camera. I’d consider it for a tripod-based interview setup or a repeatable studio arrangement, where you can plan the C70’s support around the baseplate from the start. One honest point: it’s a specialised part, so it makes sense when your setup calls for this specific camera and format, not as a general tripod add-on.
