Zhiyun Servo Zoom / Follow Controller (Max)
Zhiyun Servo Zoom / Follow Controller (Max) | Dedicated control for zoom and follow
Make zoom and follow adjustments while keeping your setup on a tripod: the Zhiyun Servo Zoom / Follow Controller (Max) is a tripod accessory named for those two control jobs. It suits video makers who want to operate zoom or follow functions with a dedicated controller, rather than treating the camera itself as the only place to make adjustments. The zoom control is relevant when you want to change framing during a shot; follow control gives you a way to manage that part of the setup as well. Its appeal is focused, not broad: this is an accessory for people who need those particular controls, not a general-purpose tripod part. The product name also identifies it as the Max version, so it’s easy to distinguish from other Zhiyun controller options when discussing your setup. If zoom and follow control are already handled elsewhere, this accessory may not add much to your working process.
Where it fits in your setup
Think of this as a control accessory for tripod-based shooting where zoom or follow adjustments are part of the shot. It’s especially relevant when you want those adjustments to be a deliberate part of your operation instead of reaching to the camera mid-take. The name is specific about the intended roles—servo zoom and follow—so it’s most useful to start by matching those roles to the way you work. It isn’t a tripod support or a general camera control device; its purpose is tied to zoom and follow operation.
Specialist Note
This is for putting zoom and follow control within reach in a tripod setup, rather than reaching over to the camera during a take. I’d point it out to someone whose shots include deliberate zoom changes or follow adjustments: those are the two jobs named in the product, so its purpose is refreshingly specific. The zoom function is useful when you want framing to change as part of the shot; the follow control matters when that operation is part of your setup. It’s a focused accessory, not a general controller. I’d first make sure those are the controls you need; the product information gives no numeric operating settings to recommend.
