7Artisans 10mm f/2.8 L-Mount (Pana/Leica/Sigma) | FullFrame
7Artisans 10mm f/2.8 L-Mount (Pana/Leica/Sigma) | FullFrame | Expansive views for landscapes and buildings
Your landscape and city pictures can take in a sweeping scene without making you step far back. This 7Artisans is an ultra-wide prime lens for full-frame cameras with a Leica L mount, including Panasonic, Leica and Sigma L-mount systems. Its 10mm focal length brings a broad perspective to landscapes, architecture and other subjects where you want the surroundings to play a big part in the frame. It’s also a practical option for astro photography, where a wide view helps include more of the night sky. Manual focus puts focusing in your hands, which suits slower, deliberate composition and gives you direct control when working at night. Expect strong perspective: a close foreground can feel prominent, while distant details occupy less of the frame. That’s part of the appeal, but it calls for care with framing, especially around the edges.
Specialist Note
130° means you can fit a remarkable amount of a scene into one frame, so I’d use this lens when the space itself matters as much as the subject. For architecture, keep the camera level and leave room around the building; that helps keep the composition controlled. For night skies, f/2.8 lets you work with a relatively bright maximum aperture, and manual focus gives you a way to focus carefully on a bright star before composing. It’ll suit photographers who enjoy shaping an image through position and framing. One honest point: with such a wide view, faraway details can look small, so it’s less suited to making distant subjects fill the frame.
