ACT 25m DisplayPort 1.4 Active Optical Cable 8K w/ Detach

ACT 25m DisplayPort 1.4 Active Optical Cable 8K w/ Detach | A long-reach DisplayPort connection

A 25-metre active optical design is what sets this ACT cable apart: it gives you a long DisplayPort cable run, with 8K and DisplayPort 1.4 in the product name. It suits a setup where the screen and the connected equipment need to be placed well apart, rather than right beside one another. That could mean routing a cable across a room or along a planned installation; the key thing is having the full 25 metres available for the route. Active optical describes the cable type, while “w/ Detach” is part of the product name. The title doesn’t give details about how the detach feature works, so I’d avoid assuming more than that. If you’re choosing a cable for a particular layout, measure the actual route, including the path around furniture or along the wall. A straight-line distance can be misleading.

Planning a 25-metre cable run

This is a specialist cable for distance, not a short lead to tidy up a desk. Before choosing it, consider where the DisplayPort source will sit, where the display will go, and how the cable needs to travel between them. A 25-metre length gives you room for a substantial run, but the route still matters: corners and detours use up cable quickly. The 8K designation makes this a relevant option when that resolution is part of your display setup, and DisplayPort 1.4 is the interface named on the product. Those labels are useful starting points when comparing cables, but they don’t tell you every detail of a complete setup. Keep the decision practical: match the length to your route and the DisplayPort connection you’re building. One honest point: this much cable is best planned before installation, rather than bought for a connection that only needs a metre or two.
