ACT 5 Meters USB 2.0 Connection Cable A Male-B Male Zip Bag
ACT 5 Meters USB 2.0 Connection Cable A Male-B Male Zip Bag | Extra reach for USB connections
Having to keep a device right beside your computer because its cable won’t reach can make a desk awkward to use. This ACT cable gives you a longer USB connection, with an A male plug at one end and a B male plug at the other. It’s suited to connecting a computer or other USB A connection to equipment with a matching USB B socket, when a short cable won’t span the gap. At 5 metres, it can give you more freedom to position the connected device where it’s convenient, rather than directly alongside the computer. The USB 2.0 connection makes it a straightforward option for setups that use that standard. It’s a practical cable for home or workplace equipment, and comes in a zip bag for keeping it together between uses. Match the two plugs to the sockets you need to connect.
Specialist Note
Five metres of cable still needs a route across your desk or room, so it won’t suit every tidy setup. But when the USB B socket is simply too far from the A connection, that extra length is the reason to choose this one. I’d use it to connect a computer to a USB B-equipped device positioned elsewhere on the desk, or to give a peripheral a more convenient spot nearby. Put the A male end at the host and run the B male end to the matching socket; the 5-metre length gives you room to plan that placement. It’s a USB 2.0 cable, so choose it for a USB 2.0 connection rather than expecting it to change the standard of your setup.
