Boya BY-P100 Professional Windshield 100mm
Boya BY-P100 Professional Windshield 100mm | Helps reduce wind noise in recordings
The useful detail here is the clearly stated 100mm size: it gives you a specific measurement to compare with your microphone setup when choosing a windshield. The Boya BY-P100 is for people recording speech or sound where moving air can interfere with the microphone, especially outdoors. A windshield helps limit that wind noise, keeping it from dominating a recording. It’s a straightforward accessory for videographers, interviewers and other location recordists who want cleaner audio in breezy conditions. The “Professional” name identifies the product, but the practical buying question is the fit: a windshield needs to suit the microphone it’s used with. If your setup calls for a 100mm windshield, the BY-P100 offers a clearly identified size rather than leaving you to guess from the model name alone.
Specialist Note
People new to microphone windshields often focus on the name and forget to check the size; with the BY-P100, start by comparing its stated 100mm measurement with the windshield size your microphone needs. Since this is a windshield, its job is to help curb wind noise, not to clean up every sound in a recording. For an outdoor spoken interview or a voice recording near an open window, use it when moving air is reaching the microphone, and make sure the fit is right before recording. It’s a focused accessory, so don’t expect it to remove traffic, room echo or handling noise.
