Caruba Hoekzoeker

Caruba Hoekzoeker: View your DSLR finder from awkward angles

Caruba Hoekzoeker turns the view through your DSLR’s finder through a full 360 degrees, with magnification selectable at 1.25x or 2.5x. It’s an accessory for DSLR users who need to compose while the camera is held above or below eye level, or who work close to a subject. The angled viewing path is useful for low- and high-angle compositions, close-ups and reproduction work, where looking straight into the camera’s normal finder can be awkward. Its rotating design lets you orient the viewfinder to suit the position you’re working from, while the two magnification settings give you a choice of viewing scale. Adapters for five camera brands are included, so the package covers Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Leica and Pentax systems. A storage pouch comes with it, too. This is a focused tool for composing through the optical finder when your eye can’t comfortably line up behind the camera.

Viewing from different angles

• Full rotation: The viewfinder section turns through 360 degrees. You can change its orientation as you move between viewing positions, rather than being limited to one fixed angle.
• Two magnification settings: Choose 1.25x or 2.5x magnification. The options provide different viewing scales through the finder, useful when you want to work with a closer or broader view.
• For high and low viewpoints: The angled finder is suited to composing with the camera above or below eye level. That’s handy when the camera’s normal finder is difficult to reach from your shooting position.
• Useful for close-up work: Close-up photography is one of the intended uses. The angled viewing path gives you an alternative way to look through the DSLR finder while composing close to your subject.
• For reproduction photography: The finder is also suited to reproduction work, where viewing directly from behind the camera may not be convenient. It keeps the camera’s finder available from a different position.
• Adapters for five brands: The package includes adapters for Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Leica and Pentax. That gives the accessory specified support across those camera systems.
