Cokin Filter A021 Blue (80B)
Cokin Filter A021 Blue (80B) | Add a cooler blue colour balance
Your pictures take on a cooler, bluer look with the Cokin Filter A021 Blue (80B). It’s a colour filter for photographers who want to shape the colour in an image deliberately, rather than leave every scene looking neutral. Use it when a cooler colour balance suits the mood you’re after, or when you want blue to be a more noticeable part of the picture. The result will depend on the colours and light in the scene, so it’s worth checking the effect in your composition as you work. This filter is best suited to considered colour changes, where a blue shift is part of the image rather than something you’re trying to hide later. If you prefer faithful, neutral colour in every shot, this isn’t the effect to reach for; if you want to make colour a creative decision, it gives you a direct way to do that.
Specialist Note
The Cokin A021 Blue (80B) is for giving an image a deliberate cooler colour character. The “Blue” name tells you the direction of the effect; the 80B designation identifies this particular blue filter, so it’s useful to keep that full name handy when choosing or discussing it. I’d consider it for scenes where a cooler balance supports the feeling you want, and assess the change in the actual composition rather than assuming every subject will respond the same way. It suits photographers who enjoy making colour choices while shooting. One honest point: if your aim is neutral colour, this filter is working against that goal.
