Cokin Filter Z025 Blue (82C)
Cokin Filter Z025 Blue (82C) | Add a deliberate blue cast in-camera
Without a colour filter, you’d usually create a blue look later in editing. The Cokin Filter Z025 Blue (82C) gives you another option: add a blue cast while making the photograph. It suits photographers who want that colour to be part of the original image, rather than an effect added afterwards. Try it with a still life when you want cooler colour across the scene, or use it for a portrait where a blue-tinted atmosphere is part of the idea. The result is a creative colour change, not a neutral correction, so it won’t suit every subject or lighting choice. If you prefer to keep colours looking natural, leave it off; if you want a clear blue influence at capture, this filter gives you a direct way to explore it. It’s identified as the Cokin Z025 Blue (82C), so you can refer to that designation when choosing or replacing this specific filter.
Specialist Note
“Will the Cokin Z025 Blue (82C) make my picture look cooler?” Yes: the Blue colour is the point of this filter, so expect a deliberate shift rather than a neutral result. I’d suggest starting with a still life, where you can judge how the blue affects the subject before using it in a more complex scene. It can also suit a portrait when you want a cool mood in the image itself; keep the effect only as strong as you want the final photograph to feel. The 82C marking helps identify this particular filter if you want to repeat that choice. It’s a creative tool, so it won’t be the right fit for every colour palette.
