Commlite Bayonet Adaptor cm-EF-Eosr VND - Canon EF / Canon RF w/ Grey Filter
Commlite Bayonet Adaptor cm-EF-Eosr VND - Canon EF / Canon RF w/ Grey Filter | EF-to-RF use with VND filtration
Your Canon EF lens can be used as part of a Canon RF setup, with a grey VND filter included in the adaptor’s design. The Commlite Bayonet Adaptor cm-EF-Eosr VND is for photographers who want to bring an EF lens into an RF-based kit and have filtration as part of that setup. Its appeal is specific: one accessory combines the EF-to-RF bayonet adaptor with a VND grey filter, rather than leaving filtration out of the equation. That can be useful when changing light levels matter, such as working outdoors in daylight. It’s a focused option for someone building around these two Canon systems, not a general-purpose accessory. If your aim is to connect an EF lens to an RF camera and have a VND filter available in the adaptor, this Commlite is made for that job.
Where it fits in your kit
This adaptor makes most sense when you already have an EF lens you want to use in a Canon RF setup, and you also want the VND grey filter in that connection. For daylight video, adjusting the VND can help manage the light reaching the camera; for stills, it gives you filtration to work with when the scene is bright. The value here is the pairing of those functions in a single product name and setup. It’s a specialised piece of kit, so its appeal depends on wanting both the EF-to-RF connection and the filter.
Specialist Note
1 EF-to-RF pairing is the whole point here: this adaptor is for bringing a Canon EF lens into a Canon RF setup. In practice, that makes it relevant if your lenses are EF and you’re assembling around RF. The second part I’d pay attention to is the VND grey filter; for daylight video, you can adjust the filter to manage incoming light, and for bright outdoor stills it gives you filtration in the same setup. It suits someone who specifically wants both functions together. My honest caveat: it’s a specialised solution, so choose it for that EF-to-RF pairing and VND filter, not just as a generic adaptor.
