Commlite cm-EF-EOS R - Canon EF / Canon RF

Commlite cm-EF-EOS R - Canon EF / Canon RF | Connect EF lenses to an RF system

Commlite cm-EF-EOS R is a converter for Canon EF and Canon RF, intended for photographers pairing an EF lens with an RF camera system. If your lenses are already Canon EF and you’re moving to a Canon RF camera, this accessory addresses the connection between the two. Its appeal is specific: it gives you a converter option for an EF-to-RF setup, so you can consider keeping an EF lens in your kit rather than replacing it solely because you’ve changed camera systems. The product name identifies the two systems involved. The useful starting point is to match the lens side and camera side of your setup to those names. That’s a simple check, but it’s the one that determines whether this converter belongs in your kit.

Choosing it for your setup

Think about the pairing you actually want to use: a Canon EF lens and a camera in the Canon RF system. This converter is named for that combination, so it’s relevant when those are the two systems in your kit. If you’re planning a move between systems, it may also be worth deciding which EF lenses you’d like to keep using, rather than treating every lens as an automatic replacement. The practical question is about the connection, not about changing what you photograph. Keep the product name to hand while comparing accessories, especially if you’re shopping for more than one item; it gives you a clear reference for the EF and RF sides. I’d choose it on that basis alone, and avoid assuming extra functions from the word “converter.”
