Desq Reversible Lens Hood 55mm Tulip Model w/ Bajonet
Desq Reversible Lens Hood 55mm Tulip Model w/ Bajonet | Shade your lens from stray light
Desq Reversible Lens Hood 55mm Tulip Model w/ Bajonet is a 55mm tulip-style hood with a reversible bayonet fitting, made for photographers who want a straightforward way to shade a lens from stray light. It suits anyone whose lens has the matching bayonet connection; the 55mm size alone doesn’t establish a fit, so the fitting matters too. In bright daylight, angled light can lower contrast or cause unwanted flare, and a hood helps keep some of that light from reaching the front of the lens. The tulip profile gives you a shaped hood for composing scenes while shading the lens. Turn it around on the bayonet for a more compact carrying position, then reverse it for use. It’s a practical accessory for outdoor portraits, street scenes and everyday photography in changing light.
Specialist Note
Late-afternoon sun falls across a street portrait, and this is where a hood can earn its place: fit it to help keep stray light off the lens as you frame the subject. The tulip shape gives you a contoured profile for that job, while the bayonet fitting makes attachment a matter of aligning and turning the hood into place. For carrying between locations, reverse it on the lens; turn it back around when you’re ready to shoot. I’d treat the 55mm marking as a size clue, not proof of fit on its own, since the bayonet connection also has to match. It suits photographers who want a simple, reversible hood for daylight work.
